Lance Mason Solicitors recently settled a medical negligence claim for the sum of £90,000. The client, who wishes to remain anonymous, was the victim of a botched surgery in 2011.

She was rushed to hospital a few days after the initial operation as a result of a perforated sigmoid, later proven to have been caused by negligent surgery. The client underwent an emergency operation to rectify the problem but she was later advised that there is likely to be permanent damage.

Mr Stephen Bradley-Watson, the senior solicitor in charge of the case, commented:

“The claim was initially rejected by another firm but after reviewing her file, I knew I might be able to help. My client suffered enormously as a result of the surgery, not just physically but financially. I am delighted we were able to succeed with her case and wish her all the best for the future.”

Despite the successful outcome, it’s been a long road to recovery for the client:

“The experience I had was painful, uncomfortable and could have been easily avoided. Following the surgery, I was left unable to work for an extended period of time and I had to rely on other people to run errands and do jobs around the house.

“My case was initially unsuccessful with the first firm I went with and I’d nearly given up hope. My daughter and I were looking at law firms on the internet and noticed that Lance Mason had great reviews, so I decided to try one last time.

“I want to say a big thank you to Stephen for never giving up hope; I really appreciate everything he’s done for me.”
