Tinnitus

“Lance Mason Solicitors is experienced in pursuing industrial disease claims, especially those that involve Tinnitus. If you are suffering with Tinnitus as a result of working in a noisy environment, Lance Mason may be able to help you win compensation.”

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus can be defined as a symptom generated within a person’s auditory pathways. A common misconception is that tinnitus occurs as a result of a disease of the ears, which is often misguided. The exact cause of Tinnitus is still unclear, but the most common cases are linked to exposure to excessive noise. Symptoms can include:

  • Persistent ringing in the ears or one ear; this can also be a hissing, buzzing or whistling sound
  • Consistently hearing low-frequency noise
  • Musical hallucinations

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important that you visit your GP.

How does the claim process work?

According to the British Tinnitus Association, it is necessary to prove that your tinnitus was caused by exposure to noise above the recommended levels in order to successfully pursue compensation. Lance Mason solicitors can tell you if there is a good chance of your claim being successful.

We will arrange an appointment for you with a medical specialist, who will then write a report indicating whether or not your condition was caused by working in a noisy environment. We can then use this medical report and any other evidence collected to fight your corner and secure compensation on your behalf.
