How do I start a claim?

How much compensation will I get?

How long will the claim process take?

The time scale can vary depending on the complexity of the case. Some claims take a matter of weeks while others take months to reach a settlement. Our experts can analyse the details of your situation free of charge and estimate how long your case is likely to take.

When should I see my doctor?

After sustaining an injury, it is important that you see your doctor as soon as possible. They will be able to ascertain the extent of your injuries and the best treatment available. We will arrange an additional medical for you later on to provide us with the documentation required to progress your case.

How long do I have to make a claim?

I already have a solicitor; can I transfer my case to Lance Mason?

You have the right to choose your own legal representation. If you already have a solicitor and you are not entirely satisfied with the way your case is being dealt with, our experts can explain the simple process of moving your claim over to us. We are also happy to offer a second opinion with no pressure or obligation involved.

Will I have to go to court?

This depends on the nature of your case and whether the other side accepts or rejects fault. In most cases, claims normally reach a settlement before entering the court room. However, in the event that you do have to attend court, we will make sure you feel entirely comfortable and that you know what to expect.

Will I get 100% of my compensation?

From April 2013 there were some changes in the law. This means that if you win your case you may need to pay for your legal assistance from your compensation but your solicitor will be happy to explain this in more detail.

Can I claim on behalf of a minor?

A minor can claim compensation but only if someone acts on their behalf. The person acting on behalf of the minor must be a parent, a guardian, or an adult with written permission from either a parent or guardian to act on the minor’s behalf.

My claim has been settled; when will I get my cheque?

Once your claim has been settled and an offer has been made by the other side, we will write to them and request for your cheque to be sent as soon as possible. In some cases, there are delays in receiving payment but we normally receive client cheques within 21 days of the case being settled.
