Local Entrepreneurs meet The Deputy Prime Minister

Local Entrepreneurs Mohammed Patel from Lance Mason Solicitors and Ebrahim Sidat, CEO of the AMS Accountancy Group of Companies, both based in the North West of England were invited to meet The Deputy Prime Minister The Rt Hon Nick Clegg MP for a gathering of British Muslims in London. Other prominent Asian business leaders were also present to discuss the challenges that exist across the country for Muslim communities.

The topics discussed included engagement of the Muslim community with political party agendas and values, local enterprise and the challenges of growing businesses in local areas of the country.

Mohammed Patel said:  "It was a great honour to be invited  to meet The Deputy Prime Minister.  An open dialogue between local entrepreneurs and senior government officials is critical to tackling the grass roots issues faced by local businesses today.”

"It’s a real challenge for a professional service business such as Lance Mason to grow in regional areas like Blackburn and it's refreshing to discuss the government’s initiatives to combat RBI (regional business impact). These initiatives will support local businesses and create jobs in areas that really need them.  I look forward to continuing this conversation over the coming months and to  The Deputy Prime Minister’s next visit to Greater Manchester early next year."

Ebrahim Sidat commented: ‘Muslim’s in regional areas of the Country need more engagement with the political parties and their proposed agendas on pressing issues. There is an increasing need for business leaders to facilitate this type of engagement to ensure that our views, on financial and non-financial issues are taken into consideration at the most senior level within Government."
